Jason Nicholson, general manager, joined Innisfree in 1996 as assistant general manager of the Beachside Resort and Conference Center in Pensacola, Fla. Immediately upon being hired Mr. Nicholson was responsible for rebuilding the resort with then general manager Mike Nixon following damage from Hurricane Opal in 1995.
In 1997 Mr. Nicholson was promoted to his first of four general manager positions. His hotel operations experience varies widely within destination resort, suburban, Native American reservation and casino markets. While serving as general manager, Mr. Nicholson also worked on management contract implementations, property franchise changes, general manager turnovers, property improvement plan management and franchise quality assurance compliance.
Mr. Nicholson is highly skilled at revenue and yield management, electronic distribution, hotel IT integration, budgeting, property operations and staff turnover reduction. As general manager he generated a 20% profit margin at the Best Western Perdido Key, and increased gross revenue at the Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach by 100% within two years of taking control.
